General Functions
  

This position is responsible for providing administrative assistance to a County Commissioner.

 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  

Duties may vary based on area of assignment. The following are representative duties, it is not the intent to capture all duties performed by this classification.

  • Composes routine and non-routine correspondence and documents.
  • Coordinates and completes administrative projects which may be of a confidential nature.
  • Conducts research, data collection, and some analysis of information for use in reports, presentations, and meetings.
  • Provides information on County policies and procedures.
  • May assist in budget preparation.
  • May transcribe and/or take dictation.
  • May supervise clerical and/or secretarial staff.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
 
Minimum Qualifications
  

High school diploma or equivalent.

Five (5) years of progressively responsible secretarial or administrative assistant experience.

An equivalent combination of education or experience may be substituted.

Ability to type at a rate of 40 correct words per minute.

 
Preferences
  

Ability to take and transcribe dictation or operate dictation equipment.
