| General Functions |
| |
This position is responsible for providing professional-level administrative, operational, and organizational service to the office of County Administrator. The role is responsible for performing a variety of complex secretarial and administrative duties to manage the day-to-day administrative support of the office.
Work is performed under the direct supervision of the County Administrator and is reviewed based on accuracy, timeliness and effectiveness of results achieved.

| Representative Duties /Assignments |

Duties may vary based on area of assignment. The following are representative duties, it is not the intent to capture all duties performed by this classification.
- Coordinates special projects and completes special assignments involving highly confidential information.
- Researches, compiles, and analyzes data for use in complex reports, and presentations and meetings.
- Responsible for developing the draft office budget for the County’s Administrator’s review and monitoring office expenses throughout the year.
- Provides information on and interprets County policies and procedures to County employees and the public as needed.
- Represents County Administrator when screening calls and responding to inquiries from elected officials, government agencies, staff members, and the general public.
- Performs secretarial/administrative duties, to include filing, word processing, composing routine and non-routine memos and correspondence, and transcribing and taking dictation.
- Maintains the County Administrator’s calendar, to include scheduling appointments and meetings to assure time efficiency and priority.
- Coordinates travel arrangements, to include preparing travel requests and reimbursement forms.
- Responsible for supervision and coordination of the front desk support staff and front desk coverage.
- Responsible for coordinating general office activities of all administrative personnel in the office.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

| Minimum Qualifications |
| |
High school diploma or equivalent.
Six (6) years of progressively responsible secretarial or administrative assistant experience.
An equivalent combination of education or experience may be substituted. |

| Preferences |
| |
Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel.
Three years of experience supporting Head of the Department/ Executive Level Leader. |
