| General Functions |
| |
This position will direct and oversee the activities of assigned managers in Community and Family Services Department. It will oversee the development of consent agenda items, will meet with elected officials, County Administration and other senior staff to facilitate communication on matters related to Community and Family Services.
Work is performed with considerable independence and the exercise of independent judgment under the general supervision of the Director, Community & Family Services. |

| Representative Duties /Assignments |

Duties may vary based on area of assignment. The following are representative duties, it is not the intent to capture all duties performed by this classification.
- Directs and oversees activities of the assigned managers in Community and Family Services Department
- Oversees the development of consent and discussion agenda items
- Meets with elected officials, County Administration and other senior staff to facilitate communication on matters related to Community and Family Services.
- Communicates to the Community and Family Services Department Director all pertinent information that could have a political operational impact
- Reviews and provides input in the development of capital and operating budgets
- Meets with outside organizations under contract to Orange County to provide information and assist in resolving problems
- Develops and makes presentations to the Board of County Commissioners, County Mayor and County Administration
- Responsible for other personnel matters within the Department, including hiring, training, discipline, employee development, performance appraisals and related activities.
- Provide direction and guidance to Division Managers and act on behalf of the Director during absences.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

| Minimum Qualifications |
| |
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Business Administration, Public Administration or related field and (10) ten years of experience in social services field. In lieu of the degree requirements additional relevant experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. |
