GRANTS MANAGEMENT ADVISOR

General Functions
  

This role performs professional-level work supporting the day-to-day operations of the Grants Management Office (GMO) within the Office of Management and Budget. This role serves as a central liaison between County departments and divisions, consultants, and external partners to ensure the efficient coordination of grant-related activities.

The role is responsible for supporting grant application development, submission processes, recordkeeping, budget coordination, and compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.

Work requires independent judgment and is performed with minimal supervision under the direction of the Grants Administrator and the Director and/or Assistant Budget Director of the Office of Management and Budget.

 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  

Duties may vary based on area of assignment. The following are representative duties; it is not the intent to capture all duties performed by this classification.

  • Serves as the primary point of contact for grant-related inquiries and coordinates grant activities with departments, consultants, and external partners.
  • Assists departments and divisions with preparing and submitting grant applications through required funding portals.
  • Maintains grant applications, awards, and reports; tracks status and ensures accurate documentation for compliance and audit readiness.
  • Coordinates grant-related budget amendments, transfers, annual budget submissions, and monitoring with departments, the Office of Management and Budget, and the Comptroller’s Office.
  • Coordinates grant training and provides technical assistance on grant applications, processes, compliance, reporting, and administration.
  • Manages the Grants Office shared email inbox and ensures timely, professional responses.
  • Supports County-wide grant policies and procedures and develops tools, templates, and process improvements to enhance grant management.
  • Researches information and recommends improvements to grant-related work processes, methods, and practices.
  • Supports special grant initiatives and assists Grants Management Office leadership with operational needs and ad hoc requests.
  • Collaborates with departments to align grant activities with County priorities and funding strategies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
 
Minimum Qualifications
  

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Public or Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field and four (4) years of professional experience in grants management, grant administration, budgeting, capital improvement, finance, or public administration, including experience supporting grant applications, compliance, reporting, or financial tracking.

In lieu of the degree requirement, additional relevant experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
