| General Functions |

This role is responsible for professional-technical work associated with overseeing third-party administrator (TPA) claims and handling workers' compensation, first-party property, and liability claims; or analyzing contracts, policies and insurance certificates to ensure proper language and compliance depending on the assigned section in the Risk Management Division.
Work is performed with considerable independence under the general supervision of a designated supervisor. Performance is reviewed through observations, reports and results achieved.

Claims Section
- Monitors and coordinates the loss adjustment of liability, workers' compensation, and first party property programs.
- Reviews reports from the TPA to ensure proper reserving and settlement authority.
- Participates in annual quality audit of the TPA.
- Oversees the TPA and defense counsel; evaluates their recommendations, provides direction on claims handling, and makes recommendations regarding file closure or claim disposition.
- Focuses on complicated claims oversight to include Heart/Lung Bill and PTSD workers' compensation claims, auto and general liability catastrophic injuries and fatalities, and complicated first party property losses.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Risk Transfer Section
- Oversees the general policy administration activities to ensure the adequate documentation of policy material, including policies, endorsements, and applications.
- Directs the insurance application process by compiling data, obtaining approvals, and submitting applications to insurance brokers.
- Reviews and redlines contracts; analyzes contract scopes to determine appropriate insurance requirements; evaluates insurance documentation for compliance with contractual and departmental standards; and monitors ongoing compliance throughout the contract lifecycle.
- Participates in annual discussions regarding risk transfer and retention strategies, including the structure of the Risk Management program with the insurance broker.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

| Minimum Qualifications |
| |
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and three (3) years of risk management, training, insurance underwriting or adjusting experience. In lieu of the degree requirement, additional relevant experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Claims Section
Must obtain and maintain a State of Florida All Lines Adjuster (6-20 Resident) license within six (6) months of employment.

Knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, OneNote, and Adobe Acrobat. Willingness to learn additional internal software and complete training as needed. |
