| General Functions |

To administer and direct all aspects and activities of the Corrections Division’s Medical and Mental Health Services. |

| Representative Duties /Assignments |
| |
- Directs and controls all activities of correctional health services.
- Develops, directs and coordinates plans, policies, and long-range progress.
- Directs the revision of rules, regulations and procedures to meet changes in laws or policy.
- Confers with program directors, supervisors and division directors to discuss operating problems, organizational, budgetary matters, personnel matters, technical problems, and the status of programs and projects.
- Selects and assigns staff, monitors a staff development needs assessment program and assures that training is obtained.
- Assures compliance with all rules and regulations of governing and accrediting agencies.
- Assures the resolution of problems/complaints relative to inmates, their families, employees and the general public.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

| Minimum Qualifications |
| |
Bachelor’s Degree in hospital, public health, health services administration or in a health or social service field such as psychology, clinical social service or nursing.
Four years in one of the following:
Overseeing the health and mental health program in a correctional facility, hospital, in-patient health care facility or mental health center.
Overseeing two or more support programs in a hospital, in-patient health care facility or mental health center/clinic.
Directing regional or state wide health/mental health service programs with jurisdiction over development and implementation of programs.
Related Masters Degree or higher may be substituted on a year for year basis.
