General Functions |
|
This position is responsible for coordinating film production permits and assisting with site selection in Orange County and its municipalities. Ensures film productions have the necessary support and permissions to film, provides collaboration between production teams and local governments, and addresses any issues that may arise during filming activities.
Work is performed with considerable independence under the general supervision of Film Office Administrator. Performance is reviewed through observations, reports and results achieved. |

Representative Duties /Assignments |
|
Duties may vary based on area of assignment. The following are representative duties, it is not the intent to capture all duties performed by this classification.
- Coordinates film permitting activities in Orange County and municipalities to include overseeing all aspects of location filming coordination ensuring operations run smoothly and in accordance with regulations.
- Develops procedures for permitting film projects within Orange County and its municipalities. Maintains strong liaisons with various governmental jurisdictions and coordinates with state and federal agencies to secure the necessary film permits while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Resolves any issues that may arise during film and production shoots, ensuring any problems are addressed in a timely manner to avoid disruptions.
- Participates and attends on-site location and community meetings, conducts site visits to assess the use and suitability of locations for filming. Ensures locations meet the requirements for production while addressing any concerns from the community or stakeholders.
- Develops and maintains productive relationships with legislators, government officials, participating county and municipal officials and staff, members of the press, media arts organizations, and other key stakeholders to foster collaboration and support for filming projects.
- Creates and maintains a list of community assets in Orange County for distribution to film industry.
- Represents the County at state, national, and international forums, conferences, and trade shows, actively seeking new opportunities to promote the County as a prime filming location.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications |
|
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and three (3) years of experience in film, television, media operations, public relations or marketing. In lieu of the degree requirements additional relevant experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. |

Preferences |
|
A degree in Film, Marketing, Business Administration, Public Administration, Public Relations or a related field. |
