General Functions |
|
This position is responsible for overseeing Orange County’s Film Office, promoting and marketing the County as a film production destination and managing its film incentive program. Attracts productions to the area by building relationships with industry professionals, including film producers, TV networks, and media makers. Participates in sales missions, industry trade shows, organizing familiarization tours, and scouting tours with local communities and businesses. Serves as the staff liasion to the Film Advisory Board.
Work is performed with considerable independence and the exercise of independent judgment under the general supervision of the Economic Development Administrator. Performance is reviewed through observations, reports and results achieved. |

Representative Duties /Assignments |

Duties may vary based on area of assignment. The following are representative duties, it is not the intent to capture all duties performed by this classification.
- Oversees the operations of Orange County’s Film Office, including overseeing the annual budget and maintaining effective communication with County leadership on financial and budgetary matters.
- Represents the County at state, national, and international forums, conferences, and trade shows, while seeking new opportunities for collaborative marketing initiatives. Promotes and fosters participation in Orange County's film incentive program.
- Develops and executes a comprehensive marketing strategy to attract film and TV commercial productions, highlighting the economic benefits and potential return on investment for Orange County.
- Manages information resources to respond to inquiries from citizens, students, and members of the film community.
- Collaborates with internal agencies and local educational partners to develop programs that offer learning and training opportunities, while building skills for employment in the film industry.
- Collaborates with local municipalities, the public, the film community, businesses, and other County departments to promote locations, crews, businesses, and film talent.
- Compiles and maintains a comprehensive database of local film-related businesses, crew, talent, services, facilities, and equipment in the county, and actively promote these resources to filmmakers at the international, national, and local levels.
- Establishes procedures for permitting filming projects within the County and municipalities, maintains relationships with various governmental jurisdictions, and coordinates with state and federal agencies to secure proper film permits and ensures compliance with regulations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications |
|
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and six (6) years of experience in managing film, television and/or media operations to include two (2) years of supervisory experience. In lieu of the degree requirements additional relevant experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. |

Preferences |
|
A degree in Film, Marketing, Business Administration, Public Administration, Public Relations or a related field. |
