| General Functions |
| |
Manages the external and internal operations of a Parks and Recreation site, including the daily maintenance and oversight of county parks and specialty facilities within a designated geographic region. Engages with customers regularly and manages revenue collection systems with multiple programs, facilities and/or multiple park sites and/or recreation property in excess of 300 acres and with large staffing levels or average daily attendance of greater than 1000, including the daily maintenance and oversight of county parks and specialty facilities within a designated geographic region. Engages with customers regularly and manages revenue collection systems. May be responsible for the management of program partners, specialized seasonal staff, non-profit support groups, and corporate volunteers.
Work is performed with considerable independence under the supervision of the Program Manager. Performance is reviewed through observations, reports and results achieved.

| Representative Duties /Assignments |
| |
Duties may vary based on area of assignment. The following are representative duties, it is not the intent to capture all duties performed by this classification.
- Responsible for supervising operational areas such as maintenance, recreational programming and services, security, budget operations, and revenue collections for multiple sites and/or facilities.
- May be responsible to manage youth or adult program partners utilizing facilities within a park site.
- Develop and conduct diversified recreational programs and services at sites that may include playgrounds, swimming areas, nature trails, concessions, shelters, campgrounds, and recreation buildings.
- Assist in the creation of operating budgets; inspect all site areas and facilities; research and recommend changes in programs and operations.
- Prepare and maintain a variety of operational reports and revenue records.
- Supervise, train and evaluate personnel at the site to include professionals, non- professionals, volunteers, and all other workers or staff.
- Promote good relationships with neighborhood and activity groups and with other agencies serving the area in determining needs and interests of the community.
- May be required to reside on Park property.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

| Minimum Qualifications |
| |
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Recreation Management, Public Administration, Sports Administration/Management, or closely related field.
Two (2) years of supervisory experience in a Parks and Recreation field.
or
High school graduate or equivalent.
Six (6) years of experience in the Parks and Recreation field, to include with a minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience.
In lieu of the degree requirements additional relevant experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.
Must obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid Certification within six (6) months from date-of-hire.
Additional certification may be required based on specialized facilities at each park.
