General Functions |
|
This position performs supervisory functions in implementing behavioral and mental health services in accordance with performance standards, current service contracts and standard operating procedures. Provides support through coordinating and delivering behavioral and mental health services based on individual needs of children, families, and/or staff. Responsible for measuring goals and objectives of behavior support, coordinating Functional Assessments of Behavior, and implementing behavioral support services to assist in the development of children's behavior and social/emotional, and adaptive life skills.
Work is performed with considerable independence under the supervision of a Sr. Program Manager and is reviewed through conferences, records, file reviews, report and results achieved. |

Representative Duties /Assignments |
|
Duties may vary based on area of assignment. The following are representative duties, it is not the intent to capture all duties performed by this classification.
- Oversees and supervises the coordination of children screening and evaluation services in the areas of behavior and/or disability services; including the coordination of outside professionals to ensure needed services are available.
- Works with teachers, counselors, caseworkers, direct-care teams, and other staff - individually, in groups, or organization-wide on issues and factors that can affect the development and implementation of interventions including crisis intervention, learning and collaboration.
- Facilitates or assists with facilitating team meetings with identified children, parents/guardians, teachers and support staff, such as case managers, for the purpose of completing a Functional Behavioral Assessment.
- Engages parents/guardians and relevant support staff, such as counselors, caseworkers, and direct-care teams, in the behavior intervention plan process by providing skills and techniques to support the development of positive child behavior.
- Trains staff in the behavioral and/or mental health services in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards, Head Start Act, Youth and Family Services Performance Standards, current service contracts, and/or standard operating procedures.
- Follows up on screenings/assessment indicating risk and provide consultation and training to teachers, families, parents/guardians, counselors, caseworkers, and/or direct care team.
- Develops and assists in the implementation of plans and strategies to identify and support children with developmental, mental health, and social-emotional concerns for behavior and/or inclusion services in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, including the Head Start Performance Standards, Youth and Family Services Performance Standards and standard operating procedures.
- Develops community partnerships that support the mental health and well-being of the children and families served. Accesses and distributes community health resources. Participates in community meetings related to behavioral and/or mental health needs.
- Monitors, records data, prepares and submits monthly services reports.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Head Start
- Oversees and supervises the activities of employees who are responsible for the development, implementation, and operation of the behavior and inclusion services.
- Works collaboratively to coordinate Health Service Advisory Committee meetings.
Youth & Family Services
- Implements behavioral and mental health services by providing guidance, support, and direction to address the needs of youth in both residential and non-residential settings.
- Provides support for youth and families through coordinating and providing services in Applied Behavior Analysis.

Minimum Qualifications |
|
Master's degree from an accredited institution in Counseling, Health, Psychology, Human Services, Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or closely related field and two (2) years of experience in human services, counseling the health field, childcare, special education or closely related area.
Certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst within 18 months from date of hire. |

Head Start
Knowledge of the Head Start Performance Standards, Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and American with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations.
Experience with school-based behavior management.
Experience with ChildPlus software.
Youth & Family Services
Experience working in school, community, and/or residential settings.
Experience in implementing behavioral management plans.
Experience working independently with clients across diverse age groups and functional abilities, tailoring services to meet individual needs with minimal direction
Received training in analysis of behavior and instructional strategies. |
