This key position is a skilled role that performs complex technical tasks in field surveys, inspections, GIS, AutoDesk applications, and engineering data management. Leads lower-level technicians.
Work is performed with considerable independence and the exercise of independent judgment under the general supervision of a designated supervisor or manager. Performance is reviewed through observations, reports, and results achieved. |

| Representative Duties /Assignments |
| |
Duties may vary based on area of assignment. The following are representative duties; it is not the intent to capture all duties performed by this classification.
- Conducts tests and assists in recording and processing research and engineering data. Repairs and fabricates test specimens, components, and testing apparatus.
- Conducts and documents engineering data collection and analysis.
- Reduces field survey notes and prepares infrastructure layouts.
- Leads technical drafting and inspection work.
- Supervises subordinate employees in technical functions.
- Manages technical data for lifecycle and operational assessments.
- Performs related duties as required.

| Minimum Qualifications |
| |
High school diploma or equivalent and three (3) years of engineering-related experience. An equivalent combination of relevant education or experience may be substituted.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License. |

| |
Two (2) years of experience/education in civil engineering technology. |
