This key position performs a variety of skilled assignments using precise survey measurements and supports various non-technical duties in the field.
Work is performed under the supervision of the Survey Field Supervisor and is reviewed through meetings, conferences, reports, and results achieved.

| Representative Duties /Assignments |
| |
Duties may vary based on area of assignment. The following are representative duties, it is not the intent to capture all duties performed by this classification.
- Clears brush with axes and machetes.
- Maintains survey crew vehicle, supplies, and equipment.
- Makes measurements with steel tape.
- Sets up targets and prisms using tripods and optical plummets.
- Holds the level rod for differential leveling.
- Assists other crew members as needed.
- Digs to locate buried property corners or utilities.
- Sets up safety devices for traffic controls and performs flagman duties.
- Acquires and develops knowledge of simple surveying instruments, equipment, and practices.
- Applies basic mathematics in work with survey drawings.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

| Minimum Qualifications |
| |
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License. |
