| General Functions |

This position is responsible for selecting, training, scheduling, monitoring independent work progress and providing technical, administrative and operational assistance and guidance. Supervises the Event Management section of the Event Services Division at the Orange County Convention Center. Provides leadership, operational assistance and guidance to the Senior Event Coordinators and the Event Coordinators in direct support of the Supervisor of Event Management. Acts as a client-facing representative of the Event Services Division in pre-con meetings, planning visits, and post-con meetings where leadership support is needed.
Work is performed with independence under the supervision of the Supervisor of Event Management. Performance is reviewed through observations, conferences, reports and results achieved. |

| Representative Duties /Assignments |

Duties may vary based on area of assignment. The following are representative duties, it is not the intent to capture all duties performed by this classification.
- Oversees recruiting and training and conducts performance evaluations and corrective action for employees in the Event Management section.
- Provides leadership and day-to-day supervision to the Event Management section.
- Serves as a liaison with department, divisions, clients, vendors, services contractors and Fire Rescue on event related information.
- Assists in strategic planning, budget preparation, payroll, scheduling and on-site event support. Develops and maintains policies and procedures.
- Serves as liaison to external and internal clients for planning and execution of events as needed to support event calendar.
- Meets the Center of Hospitality (CoH) standards.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

| Minimum Qualifications |
| |
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and four (4) years of experience in a convention center or arena environment, hospitality industry, facility or event operations, to include one (1) year in a lead, senior, supervisory or management capacity in events and/or hospitality management. In lieu of the degree requirements additional relevant experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.

A degree in Business, Event Management, Hospitality Management, Facility Management or a closely related field.
Experience in budgeting, scheduling and payroll.
Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) Certification. |
