| General Functions |
| |
This key position performs skilled multi-trades technical work specializing in one or more of the following areas: electrical, plumbing, Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), locksmithing, carpentry, masonry, lighting, audio, telecommunications, building, grounds and landscaping maintenance and other building systems and services. Interacts on a regular basis with staff, clients, vendors, and contractors to ensure the highest level of service and work quality. May schedule, track, and train lower-level technicians.
Work is performed with independence under the general supervision of the Technical Operations Supervisor or other designated supervisor. Performance is evaluated based on the guidance provided to team members, demonstrated mechanical skills, and achievement of desired results. |

| Representative Duties /Assignments |
| |
Duties may vary based on area of assignment. The following are representative duties; it is not the intent to capture all duties performed by this classification.
- Performs work in a variety of skilled trades including:
- Electrical Systems: Installs, maintains, and troubleshoots temporary and permanent systems up to 480 volts, including lighting and power distribution.
- Plumbing and HVAC: Independently services infrastructure such as chillers, air handlers, pneumatic controls, and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
- Carpentry and Masonry: Performs complex repairs and installations involving wood, block, tile, concrete, and related structures.
- Surface Finishes: Applies paint, carpet, tile, and finish materials for functional and aesthetic restoration.
- Locksmithing and Machining: Maintains keying systems and fabricates or adjusts components to support facility security and operations.
- Mechanical Systems: Services generators, pumps, valves, motors, and power generation systems; uses hydraulic tools and devices.
- Structural Repairs: Conducts advanced repairs to drywall, roofing, doors, partitions, and related structural elements.
- Technical Systems: Programs and maintain lighting, audiovisual, rigging, and fire/life safety technologies.
- Exterior Maintenance: Performs tasks related to irrigation, landscaping, sidewalks, and asphalt/concrete maintenance.
- Operates computerized maintenance systems (CMMS), schedules and prioritizes work assignments, and mentors lower-level technicians.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

| Minimum Qualifications |
| |
High school diploma or equivalent and four (4) years of experience in skilled trades, event services, facility maintenance, or other technical services. An equivalent combination of relevant education or experience may be substituted.
Depending on the area of assignment, must possess and maintain valid licenses and/or certifications:
- Florida Driver’s License
- Entertainment Technician Certification Program (ETCP) Rigging Certification
- National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) Certification
- Backflow Prevention License
- Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Refrigerant License
- Journeyman/Master Plumber License
- Journeyman/Master Electrician License

| Preferences |
| |
Working knowledge and/or skills regarding electrical distribution equipment, computerized lighting and audio equipment, chillers and air handlers and/or a variety of motorized high-lift equipment.
Convention Center
Experience working in a convention center or highly occupied facility performing related maintenance and/or installation of utilities, air conditioning, heating, ventilation, lighting/audio services, rigging or facility maintenance. |
