ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE SUPERVISOR

General Functions
  

This position will manage the sales and marketing plans by recommending growth efforts, monitoring progress, and ensuring that the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) is competitively positioned within the industry.

Work is performed with independence under general supervision of the Director of Sales & Marketing.  Performance is reviewed through observations, conferences, reports and results achieved.

 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  

Duties may vary based on area of assignment. The following are representative duties; it is not the intent to capture all duties performed by this classification.

  • Manages a portfolio of key accounts; serves as primary contact, negotiates contracts within guidelines, and ensures client satisfaction.
  • Works closely with the Sales Director and Executive Management Team to maintain existing business and generate new business; manages public and professional relationships.
  • Manages the OCCC sales and marketing plan to ensure alignment with business objectives and to guide account strategies across all market segments.
  • Develop and implement strategies to target new businesses and drive sales during off-peak periods.
  • Assists Account Executives in developing a yield management program to maximize event days. Monitors and reviews all event bookings to ensure accuracy of guidelines, dates, space and rates.
  • Supervise Account Executives and Sr. Account Executives, monitors performance including daily sales activities, meetings, sales reports and coaches presentation skills.
  • Participates in industry tradeshows, sales calls, and promotional events; maintains active roles in industry organizations and committees.
  • Partners with internal departments (e.g., Event Services, Capital Projects, Operations) to ensure seamless event execution and client experience.
  • Analyzes and generates daily, weekly, and monthly business reports; provides monthly sales updates to management and supports strategic planning and the budget process.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
 
Minimum Qualifications
  

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in Marketing, Public Relations, Financial Management, Business or Public Administration, or closely related field and six (6) years of experience in marketing and sales in a convention center, convention bureau, convention hotel or the hospitality industry or an equivalent combination of relevant education, training or experience; to include two (2) years of supervisory experience. In lieu of the degree requirements, additional relevant experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

Meets Center of Hospitality (COH) Standards.

 
Preferences
  

Working knowledge of revenue management and event space utilization.

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, Kronos, Adobe, Docusign and the use of CRM software
