COMMUNICATIONS ADMINISTRATOR

General Functions
  

This role plans, organizes, coordinates, and implements various marketing and publications tools and distributes information to the tradeshow industry.

Work is performed with considerable independence and the exercise of independent judgment under the general supervision of the Marketing Manager or other designated supervisor.

 
Representative Duties /Assignments
  

Duties may vary based on area of assignment. The following are representative duties, it is not the intent to capture all duties performed by this classification.

  • Assists in developing long and short-term strategic marketing and communications plan for the Orange County Convention Center.
  • Plans, implements and directs the Orange County Convention Centers public relations strategies, policies and procedures. Develops and implements ongoing and special event projects.
  • Analyses the effectiveness of public relations and communications plans.
  • Conceptualizes, writes, and implements collateral materials, client presentations, advertising, web site development, direct mail campaigns, video and news releases.
  • Produces special events, such as, familiarization trips, tradeshow opportunities, industry showcase functions and sales blitzes designed to promote the Orange County Convention Center.
  • Cultivates and maintains relationships with trade publications, media and industry partners. Establishes systems for the dissemination of materials and information for press releases.
  • Oversees and supervises marketing and communications team members project workflows.
  • Meets the Center of Hospitality (CoH) standards.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
 
Minimum Qualifications
  

Bachelor degree from an accredited institution in Marketing, Hospitality, Journalism or a closely related field.

Five (5) years of experience in Public Relations or Communications with a hotel, convention facility, convention bureau, entertainment attractions, or media/news to include three (3) years of supervisory/leadership experience.

In lieu of the degree requirements additional relevant experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.
