General Functions |
|
Performs professional and administrative social work involving complicated and difficult cases, while providing leadership by guiding and mentoring Family Services Workers. Manages and supports Family Advocates in delivering services to Head Start families. Collaborates closely with community providers by actively engaging in regular communication and partnership efforts to coordinate services and resources for families.
Work is performed with independence under the minimal supervision of the Program Manager. Performance is reviewed through observations, file reviews, conferences, reports and results achieved. |

Representative Duties /Assignments |
|
Duties may vary based on area of assignment. The following are representative duties, it is not the intent to capture all duties performed by this classification.
- Oversees the day-to-day operations and supervises Family Services Workers ensuring Head Start Performance Standards, Head Start Standard Operating Procedures and ChildPlus data are followed.
- Ensures employees maintain accurate case documentation, make appropriate referrals and advise clients of available program resources by tracking progress and generating reports on service outcomes to assist program with decision making.
- Mentors and trains employees to ensure delivery of quality service in addition to having extensive knowledge of resources, case management practices, ethical considerations and advocacy strategies to effectively connect families to support agencies.
- Monitors and provides one-on-one/reflective support to staff.
- Completes performance evaluations assigned to caseload.
- Assists in the process of building community partnerships for resources for families.
- Assists in the development of individual family goals and strategy steps for reaching their goals in the absence of a Family Services Worker.
- Advises Program Manager with program documentation, performance measurements, and other program data.
- Monitors Child Comprehensive files as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications |
|
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and three (3) years of experience in social services or human services. In lieu of the degree requirements, additional relevant experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
Depending on area of assignment, possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Driver's License. |

Preferences |
|
A degree in Social Work, Sociology, Counseling, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Human Services or a closely related field.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
Strong understanding of social service systems, legal frameworks and community resources.
Experience in leading and guiding advocates to include collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Head Start - ERSEA
A degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Education, Human Services or related field.
Leadership or supervisory experience in business, early childhood development or social services. |
