| General Functions |

This key position is a training level role that performs operation and maintenance of a treatment facility in compliance with the requirements of the Utilities Health and Safety Manual. Participates in the analysis and troubleshooting of operational problems using available data and follows the proper course of action to meet plant operating objectives.
Work is performed under the supervision of a designated supervisor. Work is reviewed through observations, conferences, reports and results achieved. |

| Representative Duties /Assignments |
| |
Duties may vary based on area of assignment. The following are representative duties, it is not the intent to capture all duties performed by this classification.
- Provides preventive and corrective maintenance on mixers, blowers, compressors, pumps, motors, and related equipment.
- Collects process samples in accordance with approved protocol.
- Maintains operational database and records.
- Prepares reports and documents situations as needed.
- Operates and maintains chemical feed equipment.
- Drives a tractor-trailer or dump truck, if applicable to location.
- Troubleshoots processes and equipment such as chemical feed units and various level control systems, hydraulics and pneumatic equipment.
- Provides operational control assistance for processes.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

| Minimum Qualifications |
| |
High School Diploma or equivalent. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted.
Must possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Driver's License.
Depending on area of assignment, must obtain the following:
Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Mandated Class “C” Water or Wastewater License within two (2) years of hire
Completion of Class C Water or Wastewater Operators course within one (1) year of hire
Passing one Skill Test component within two (2) years of hire
Florida Commercial Driver’s License within six (6) months of hire |

Education, training, and/or experience in mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation.
Competency in basic mathematics, chemistry and biology.
Experience in water or wastewater plant operation and maintenance. |
